One thing I really don’t like is to write a fishing report when the fishing is not good. But I always do and always tell it like it is. I have even had guests tell me they picked Crocodile Bay because after reading reports from other places, mine was the only one that did not […]

Fishing Report by Todd Staley, Fishing Director November is one of my favorite months at Crocodile Bay Resort. Historically the dorado are running around like rats and of course marlin are behind them looking to munch down a few. Schools of football size tuna appear and are also a favorite snack of marlin. If the […]

Costa Rica Fishing Report, October 2015 by Todd Staley Fishing Director “Your patience shall be rewarded”. Don’t know how many times I have said that lately when it comes to offshore fishing. Everyone who ventured offshore lately has managed to add a marlin to their bucket list. Not really big fish, 200 to 300 lbs but […]

Crocodile Bay Resort, Costa Rica Fishing Report August 2015 by Todd Staley The inshore fishing has really been something to crow about. Speaking of school, the first big school of spinner dolphins came through yesterday so the yellowfin tuna bite should be good. Now that 44% of Costa Rica territorial waters are protected from purse sein boats when they arrive […]

As a longtime angler, Dennis Tilden knows: the quicker a fish is prepared after it’s caught, the fresher it will taste. But Tilden, who reeled in a 32-pound Mexican barracuda recently while fishing in the Pacific off Costa Rica, did not know until dinner was being served that he’d be eating a potential world-record catch. […]
